This handsome, 1905 Colonial Revival edifice stands near the entrance to Fort Stevens, at the mouth of the Columbia River. Quality features include pressed-tin ceilings, ornate staircases, inset cupboards, imposing fireplaces, two dining and living rooms, and wraparound porches.
The ample building features eight bedrooms with fireplaces and private baths. In addition to rooms with queen- and king-sized beds, the inn offers several two-bedroom suites with three or four double beds in each suite, which can accommodate groups or families. In addition, just across the street are the Fort Stevens parade grounds, which include playground equipment. The Officer's Inn can accommodate a variety of events involving small or large groups.
An added advantage is close proximity to the Fort Stevens historic military site, a short distance to the beach, bicycle and hiking trails, and access to frequent reenactment activities at the fort.
