Pacific City

Pacific City is known for its dory boats, which are launched directly into the surf by local fishermen. The city sits on both sides of the Nestucca River, which flows south through the city and eventually empties into the Pacific Ocean. At one time, Pacific City was the western terminus of the Hood to Coast Relay, but as the race grew, the organizers realized that they needed a larger community to receive them, so they chose Seaside.
