Lighthouses Newport
Yaquina Head Lighthouse

Marked as the tallest on the Oregon Coast, the Yaquina Head Lighthouse stands 162 feet above sea level. With its 93-foot tower, this lighthouse serves to guide ships along the coast as well as at the entrance to Yaquina Bay. Located just off the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway, north of downtown Newport, it was illuminated in 1873 and is cared for by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). With its brighter light, the lighthouse eliminated the need for the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse.

There are natural-area exhibits, tidepools, and trails located nearby.
