The Wayside Lodge offers its guests what they need for a romantic getaway or a large family gathering. Located on a bluff that overlooks the Pacific Ocean just outside of Yachats, this lodge features cottages and a vacation rental.
At this private lodge, their cottages contain fully equipped kitchens, cable television, private deck with full ocean view, and many with woodstoves. Each unit has direct access to six miles of sandy beach. Their vacation rental offers four bedrooms with private baths, a fully equipped kitchen, and large living and dining room areas in an open floorplan.
This family-owned motel offers an occasional discounted rental rate during the off-season. During the high-season, they require a two-night stay minimum. Because smoking is not permitted in the rooms, there is an additional charge if guests smoke in the rooms. They do not allow pets.
Guests enjoy many such outdoor activities as exploring the nearby tide pools, walks on the beach, charter fishing, winter storm watching, and hiking at nearby state parks. There are also unique gift shops and galleries available. In nearby Newport, guests find interesting the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Wax Museum, Undersea Garden, and other attractions. Just south of Yachats and worth checking out is the Heceta Head Lighthouse and the Sea Lion Caves.
