The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, under the administration of the Siuslaw National Forest, provides a number of sand camping sites in the dunes west of Siltcoos and Woahink lakes. All of these campsites are found north of the Siltcoos River, which empties from Siltcoos Lake into the Pacific. Some of them are fairly close to the highway. Others are north of the Driftwood II campground at the end of the Driftwood Sand Road, and a few are at the end of a sand road that comes close to Honeyman State Park and Cleawox Lake.
Only one of the sites in this area is considered remote and suitable only for tenters.
