Bird Watching
Henry Rierson Spruce Run Campground

Expansive vistas of the Nehalem River and second-growth Douglas fir make this campground an accessible place to view breeding hermit warbler, American dipper, and common merganser. Birders also can anticipate Wilson's and orange-crowned warbler in summer; gray jay, golden-crowned kinglet, chestnut-backed chickadee, and Steller's jay can be glimpsed year round.

From Highway 101 south of Seaside, take Highway 26 east for 20 miles, then turn south on Lower Nehalem Road. Proceed five miles to the campground, open June through September.
