Bridges Highway 101 Cannon Beach to Manzanita
Necarney Creek Bridge

Located near Cannon Beach, the Necarney Creek Bridge was completed in 1937, the same year that the Chasm (Neahkahnie Mountain) Bridge was completed. Both bridges were designed by Glenn S. Paxson. The Necarney Creek Bridge’s girders and owers were constructed of steel, the first of its kind built in Oregon. It ushered in a period of structural steel bridges that lasted into the 1960s.

The Necarney Creek Bridge is situated in the Oswald West State Park. It was dedicated to one of the generous benefactors to the park Sam Wood.
