Bed and Breakfasts

The concept of the bed and breakfast originated in Europe, but in recent years it has become more and more accepted in North America. On the Oregon Coast, most bed and breakfasts are small affairs with only a few rooms, although occasionally one can approach "country inn" status. Generally, they are converted from existing homes, often of historic value, so a stay in an Oregon Coast bed and breakfast can often be a discovery as well as a night's sleep.

Breakfast is often a peak experience, with the owners putting their best efforts into seeing that you start your day right. You also have the opportunity to meet others who have traveled to the Oregon Coast, often from faraway places.
