Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint
Dramatic vistas of Three Arch Rocks and the Pacific Ocean, the huge Octopus Tree, and paths among other old-growth trees enthrall visitors. Peregrine falcon nest on adjacent Cape Meares National Wildlife Refuge every spring, and numerous common murre breed on islands just offshore. Varied thrush, gray jay, dark-eyed junco, bald eagle, cedar waxwing, pelagic cormorant black oystercatcher, pigeon guillemot, and white-crowned sparrow are frequently spotted year round.
From Highway 101 S in Tillamook, turn right on 3rd Street/Netarts Highway, then follow it to Bayocean Road NW. Turn right, then left onto Cape Meares Loop Road, and follow the signs to parking.
