Gnat Creek Campground

This area features second-growth Douglas fir and Sitka spruce forest with mixed alder, and ideal chances to observe during the breeding season such coast-range species as the American dipper, mountain quail, and hermit warbler. A trail to Gnat Creek Fish Hatchery is 1.5 miles.

From Astoria, take US 30/Lower Columbia River Highway east 18 miles (near milepost 78), turn north at the Gnat Creek sign, then proceed to the campground.
